The shortest way to the beautiful and mysterious world of an empire of the sea god “Poseidon” is through a basic training course of underwater navigation, at dive-clubs of Greece, under the international programs of authoritative organizations, such as PADI, IDD, CMAS, NAUI etc. All this organizations are engaged of preparing and type certification of the submariners worldwide, and upon termination of training put out the various international certificates giving to you an opportunity of knowledge of the underwater world. Here there are differences and opportunity of a choice according to your desire.
Water is another medium, and your safety depends on quality of training. More detailed information about the educational programs of the services, provided by dive-centres of Greece them, can be found in the diving-clubs of our magazine. It is only necessary to make one step to pass a course of training to appear in the world of boundless blue spaciousness and fantastic sensations.
If you already have certificate of diver, and you want to be perfected, at your service there are special courses: probing of the wreck ships, underwater navigation, night and deep water sink age, underwater photo and video filming.
About training
Resort course, discovery scuba diving course, and intro course
This course is officially solved practically all federations of underwater navigation. It is conducted in fundamental on marine health resorts and occupies a little time. Usually it is one lesson of the theories dedicated acquaintance with equipment, one practical lesson in basin intended for acclimatization to water, and sink age in the open sea. This course does not provide reception of an international type certification and volumetric quantity of knowledge; it provides only acquaintance with diving.
The diver receives an oppertunity at the end of the course, to dive on depth of 5-8metres (in open sea), under direct supervision of the instructor.
Scuba diver course (NAUI); Open Water course (PADI); Bronze course (CMAS *)
This course is intended for the people wishing to float in the open sea and to fulfill other different types of the diving. The program includes 3-4 lessons of the theory; 3-4 lessons in basin; 5-6 sink ages in the open sea.
Advantage: The diver receives an international irredeemable type certification on all life. He is allowed to take in rent, to buy equipment and to be steeped in any point of a globe. Diver can fulfill such types of sink ages, as night, in currents, on the wreck ships, in mainsails. All sink ages should be conducted on depth up to 18 meters.
Advanced Scuba Diver Course (NAUI, PADI, SSI, IDD)
This course is continuation of training for certificated divers and is intended for those who wishes to receive padding preparing and to familiarize with various places of sink ages and conditions of these sink ages. This interesting program consists of 6 hours of theory, longer then other courses. It should contain the special information on such types of diving, as search and raising from bottom of entities, hunting and collecting, deep water sink ages, navigation and others. The practical course switches on not less than six sink ages in open water, from which 3 are obligatory:
Navigation and antenna pointing;
Night diving or in poor visibility;
Deep water diving (maximum of 40 meters).
At a choice:
Search and raising of entities from bottom;
Dive from ship;
Hunting and collecting of items;
Diving on the wreck ship;
Diving in streams;
High-mountainous sink age;
Diving in a fresh water;
Diving from a shore;
Diving for a photo or video of filming;
Diving with the computer etc.
Upon termination of a sectional course the diver can fulfill sink ages relevant to the level of preparing without observation of the instructor.
Master scuba diver course (NAUI, PADI), Silver (CMAS **)
The course is intended for divers, wishing to prolong training and to improve the received knowledge and skills, and also to receive more pleasures from the diving. The program of a course consists of 2-3 hours of the theory (equipment, risk in diving, environment, navigation underwater, sink age in a restricted visibility, deep water sink ages) and sink age in opened to water (as a rule 8 sinks).
Required sinks:
Emergency procedures and rescue;
Deep water sink ages;
Night sink age;
Underwater navigation;
Search and raising of entities from bottom.
Besides the diver fulfills on a choice of sink age:
Sinks in mild equipment (mask, snorkel, flippers);
Sinks from the ship;
Sinks inshore;
Underwater hunting and collecting.
Advantage: upon termination of the course the diver has the right to dive together with his partner having the equivalent level of preparation, and according to the level of preparation, without the instructor.
The description of special courses
Night diving. This course grants the diver opportunity of knowledge and skills necessary for minimization of risk in night sinks. Subjects covered in theoretical lessons: planning and preparing of sink age; equipment for night sink age; procedures; problems, danger; navigation and engineering of the partners.
Advantage: Diver has the right to dive to certain depth at night, with a partner and without supervision of instructor
Diving on the wrecked ships. This course is intended to ensure the diver with necessary knowledge and skills permitting to receive experience and to minimize of risk of sink ages on the wreck ships. The program of training consist of such theoretical aspects as: safety, danger and precautionary measures special risk at infiltration in the wreck ship, tangling, restricted visibility, deep water sink ages, equipment (adding and updating), arrangement of the wreck ships, search methods, underwater navigation.
Course rescue on waters. This course plots divers effectively to act in emergency situations, and also to render the necessary help by the injured at inappreciable problems originating on water. The course switches on theoretical preparing: the reason of the accidents and their prevention, physical condition and physiological factors, stress, psychological factors, check of equipment before diving. The practical lessons give skills at rescue on the water, rescue from depth, and also transportation of the injured, self-rescue, synthetic breathing on the water, engineering of removal of equipment, transfer of the injured on a shore and rise on the ship, first aid and usage of oxygen, arrangement to leave the injured diver behind, access to transport of first aid and to pressure chamber, information accumulation, official report about casualty, duties of the resckuer and other aspects.
Advantage: The diver is considered competent and can conduct a rescue in open water, with similar situations as on training. The diver has the oppertunity to pass the leader and instuctor course.
Course of rendering of a first aid. This course is necessary for divers as an obligatory demand to begin a course of rescuing in water. Investigated materials and subjects: synthetic respiration, not a direct cardiac massage, treatment of shock and finding the origin, treatment of fractures, strained ligaments, dislocations, superimposition of bindings and splints, treatment of stings and poisonings etc.
Advantage: Divers proves competent for rendering the injured with first aid.
Dive master course (NAUI, PADI), Gold course (CMAS ***)
The dive master-course is the highest achievement in amateur diving. The program is designed for experienced divers, wishing to conduct and organize dives in open water with certified divers. The theoretical is conducted with subjects as: duties of dive master, planning, organization and supervision of group diving. The focus is placed on the analysis of conditions of diving; choice and estimation of a place of sink age, briefing, usage of crews of safety, usage of a divers flag.
The special courses provide also reception of skills for work as diver, managements of tours, assisting to the instructor and training of the students -divers.
Diving from a shore: organizational problems, bound with coast sink ages, such as a choice of a place of an entrance and exit, possible danger, signals, flags, buoys, stream and rising tides, wind, movement of water transport.
Actions in case of emergency, namely, what actions to receive at origin of emergency cases, including an effective utilization of the assistants and equipment, underwater signals, response of the submariners, search engineering, rescue, leaving behind the injured, equipment for rendering a first aid, access and prompt call of organizations rendering a first aid, official report about casualty.
Diving from the ship. During lectures the questions of usage of the major and small ships for the diving, required equipment and licenses, navigation and traffic regulations of vessels, batch, rules of parking, berthing, rule of mutual relation between the captain and dive master, engineering of usage of stairways, platforms and ropes of safety, rules of sink age from the ship, procedure of safety and rescue on the ships are considered.
Night diving and the diving in poor visibility. Subjects: used procedures and originating problems, finding appropriate place for diving in daytime, planning and procedures of safety of sink age, light (underwater, on a surface, shore and ship), special equipment typical and local perils, partner ropes, signals by a rope, underwater communications, limits of diving, handling situation of loosing diver, problems, bound with diving in poor visibility underwater and on a surface.
Deep-water diving and decompression diving. In sport diving the importance of avoiding decompression diving should be highlighted. The investigated questions are: planning, concepts, methods of sink age and emersion, equipment used in such type of diving. The student – dive master should have good knowledge the area where decompression tables are concerned, underwater computers, and also knowledge in the field of rendering a first aid, leaving and transportation at origin of casualties, bound with a decompression illness and barotraumas mild. Rules concerning air flights after sink age. The theory in an environment field: physical and biological aspects of an environment with accent on local terrain, including life of plants and animal, pollution and movement of water, rising tides, current, waves and surf, action of a wind. Theoretical questions, bound with equipment: Frequently originating problems with equipment, recognition of unsafe or improperly assembled equipment, types of equipment, improper wearing of equipment and its check before sink age.
Practical part. It is necessary to execute exercises in open water herein provided:
Check of equipment before sink age, and partner;
Input in water, check of a balance, passage of a route, escaping of water;
To float a distance of 805 meters (common distance of sink age);
Taking down a freight strake, it putting on underwater and above water;
Taking down and putting on of equipment of the aqualung on a surface;
Raising from bottom of a freight strake (depth of 6 m., weight of 4,5 kg);
To make 5 minute decompression stop on depth of 4,6 meters;
To clean a mask and regulator;
Search of a regulator;
Partner respiration;
Emergency emersion;
Installation of an exact balance with usage of a cargo, respiration and expansion bend.
To make night diving as a real diver. During this sink age the personnel of a course will demonstrate organization and carrying out of night sink age for certificated divers. The sink age should be conducted in a place earlier tested day.
As a dive master to realize the supervision of rescue of a diver on the open water, including organization of search, transportation of the injured to a coast or ship, and also leaving behind the injured and call of first aid.
To prepare and to realize at least one briefing with the students - divers for practice and one for an estimation of a degree of their availability to sink ages.
To diving age in as a dive master, assist instructor with the beginning students.
To realize diving from a shore as a dive master with group certificated divers.
To organize and to conduct night diving or in poor visibility.
Advantage: Dive master in the fissile status can organize and conduct sink ages for certificated divers. The conducted diving should be identical to training sink ages of the dive master.
Padding drill, the knowledge and experience is necessary to dive master for carrying out of the highly specialized sink ages, such as infiltration in the wreck ship, cave-diving or ice-diving. Dive master in the fissile status is skilled assist to the instructor at carrying out of a course of training of the diving.
Dive master can prolong training at the rate of preparing the instructors on underwater navigation.
The special course of the deep water sinks. This course ensures to the diver with knowledge necessary for planning and carrying out of deep-water sink ages, and also minimization of risk of the decompression status. The theoretical occupancies is consist of: problems, danger, planning, preparing, equipment (adding and updating), personnel, calculations of an air delivery, emergency procedures, limits of depth; besides of decompression procedures which are switching on a nitrogen narcosis and a decompression illness (definition, reason, signs, marks, first aid and prevention), concepts, usage of dive-computers; complete study of the dive-tables; high-mountainous diving, air flights after diving and usage of the pressure chamber.
Advantage: Diver has the right to be steeped at the night with the partner without the instructor.
